Fun is the order of the day, but safety is the key to a great Poker
Run. You will find our rules are for the safety of you, your crew and
the safety of the other participants. Adhere to them to insure a safe
and fun day on the water, break them and your day with us will be
short.
We will be starting the Poker Run in separate waves - each wave is
limited to 20 boats. If you pass the pace boat you will be
immediately disqualified from Cumberland Thunder Run. The first
wave will depart at 11:00 AM with subsequent waves starting at
5-10 minute intervals. Anyone caught operating their boat recklessly;
cutting other boats off, disobeying no-wake zones, putting others at
risk or disobeying minimum separation rules will be immediately
removed from the run.
Life Jackets and kill lanyards are required to be worn during this
event.
Absolutely no consumption of alcoholic beverages immediately
before or during the event. If an operator of a vessel entered into this
years Poker Run is determined to be under the influence then the
individual will be remanded to being a passenger in his own boat or
worse be disqualified and asked to remain behind and moored up.
Irresponsible boating and or behavior will result in public humiliation
and possible legal implications. So behave yourself and act
responsible and professional so everyone enjoys themselves and we
can do it again next year with even greater success.
